Career coaching for anyone who wants something at work to change — whether you are stuck, changing direction, stepping up, or just not sure what is next: the conversation with your manager you keep rehearsing and not having, the move that is always nearly the right time, the leadership role you already hold without the support to hold it well, or the sense that the job is fine and something about how you are in it is not. We talk about the specific conversations you are avoiding and how to have them, whether a move is right or just familiar, how you lead and how you are led, reading a room without losing your own read of it, work that follows you home, and what you are actually optimising for underneath "more money" or "more senior."
It is practical work on what you do at work, week to week — not personality tests or a five-year plan — and it suits people changing direction, stepping up, starting to lead, or deciding whether to stay. Every session is fifty-five minutes, by video from anywhere in the world, or at your home in Santa Cruz County and the Bay Area. By video, a single session is $130, or take a block of four ($495), eight ($935) or twelve ($1,325) — the longer the block, the less each session costs, down to $110. At your home it is $180 a session, with blocks from $695. Veterans and first responders get 15% off.

How we approach it
Pick one thing.
We choose the one thing to work on, properly, not several things briefly.
Run it out loud.
We rehearse the real conversation or talk in the room before you have it.
Look at how it went.
After you try something, we look at what actually happened, not what you feared.
The techniques, by name.
- The Reason Check
- testing the reason you give for not asking yet
- The Ask
- working out and rehearsing the request
- What's Yours, What's Theirs
- sorting out what is yours to change at work
What a session looks like
- 1Before
Pick the one thing to work on, properly. A short note to us is plenty.
- 2The hour
Fifty-five minutes, one to one. Plain talk about what we see, and the real conversation said out loud.
- 3After
One small thing to do before the next session, then a look at how it went.

Questions about career coaching
Is this executive coaching or leadership coaching?
We do not divide it that way. Whether you manage people or not, the work is the same: the specific conversation, decision, or pattern that is costing you at work. If your situation is mostly about leading others, that is most of what we will work on.
I am thinking about changing jobs. Is this career coaching or job coaching?
Either framing works. We help you work out whether a move is right, and if it is, how to make it — the actual conversations, timing, and what you are optimising for. We do not write resumes.
How is this different from talking to a mentor?
A mentor tells you what worked for them. A career coach works with what is actually true for you, one to one, without an interest in the outcome other than yours.
